Adding Background Image/Color

This documentation applies to zIFBoards only.

This documentation covers how to add a background image, or a different background color to your forum. To start with, log into your Admin CP, and look for the Skinning and Styles category in the left hand navigation menu. Click on Manage Style Sheets.

Background Image

Locate the following line of CSS:

BODY { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #000000; margin:0px 10px 0px 10px; background-color:#FFFFFF }

To add an image, change to this:

BODY { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #000000; margin:0px 10px 0px 10px; background-color:#FFFFFF; background-image: url(IMG URL); }

…you will need to replace IMG URL with the link to your hosted image.

You can also add:

  • no-repeat - to prevent the image repeating
  • repeat-x - to force it to repeat horizontally
  • repeat-y to force it to repeat vertically

before the final semicolon (;) after the image URL.

Background Color

Locate the following line of CSS:

BODY { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #000000; margin:0px 10px 0px 10px; }

To add a background color change to this:

BODY { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #000000; margin:0px 10px 0px 10px; background-color:#HEX; }

…replace HEX with a hex code. Some basic examples are listed here.
