Domain Setup: GoDaddy

Warning: This tutorial assumes that you have left the default nameservers set to GoDaddy's (usually similar to park.secureserver.net). If you have changed the nameservers to your web host's, you will need to make these changes there. Try our WHM tutorial.

  1. Log into your GoDaddy control panel and click the domain for which changes need to be made. In the middle column, directly under the Nameservers, choose Total DNS Control and then click Total DNS Control and MX Records.
  2. A popup window will appear (so make sure you have popups allowed if you're using Firefox). Click Add New CNAME Record.

  1. Now you can add the CNAME record.
    1. Enter an Alias Name: If you want to redirect your whole domain, put its FQDN in the box and a trailing period (i.e. mydomain.com.) Otherwise, put the name of the subdomain you would like to use (e.g. forums).
    2. Enter Points to Host Name: Put the URL found in your ZetaBoards or InvisionFree board's Domain Manager in this box (e.g. s1.zetaboards.com or z3.invisionfree.com).
    3. Select TTL Value: Leave this set to 1 Hour.
  2. Wait until the domain no longer lists as Pending Setup, and then add it to the Domain Manager in your ACP.
