Domain Setup: Co.cc

To get started with Co.cc Domains, login to your Co.cc account.

  1. Go to the Manage Domains section.
  2. Click “Set up” next to the domain you'd like to point to your board. If you've used your domain previously, click on the name of your domain, and then click on the “Set up” button.
  3. On the next page, click on the second option, Zone Records.

Using your Whole Domain

If you'd like to point your whole domain to your board (example.co.cc), follow the steps below. If you'd like to use a subdomain (forums.example.co.cc), skip ahead to the Using a Subdomain section.

Adding an A-record

The first thing you need to do is create an A-record. Under the “Add a Record” section, enter the following values into the boxes:

  • Host: yourdomain.co.cc
  • TTL: 1H
  • Type: A
  • Value: Enter your Server IP (For example, if you are on s1.zetaboards.com, your IP address would be 209.85.62.21)

Adding a CNAME record

Now you can add your CNAME record. Repeat the Adding an A-record step, except use the following values:[list]

  • Host: www
  • TTL: 1H
  • Type: CNAME
  • Value: sX.invisionfree.com or sX.zetaboards.com (Replace “X” with the server number of your board, and choose the service your board is hosted on)

Using a Subdomain

Creating a subdomain is slightly easier than pointing to your whole domain to your board. All you need to do is create a CNAME record. Once you click on the “Zone Records” option, simply enter the following values into the required fields:

  • Host: forums (This would create a subdomain for “forums.example.co.cc”. Change “forums” to match the subdomain you'd like to use)
  • TTL: 1H
  • Type: CNAME
  • Value: sX.invisionfree.com or sX.zetaboards.com (Replace “X” with the server number of your board, and choose the service your board is hosted on)

Note: Whatever subdomain value you enter into the Host field will automatically be appended with the rest of your domain. This is normal, so don't be alarmed if this happens.

Wait up to 24 hours for Co.cc Domains to update your DNS settings before adding your domain to your board's Domain Manager in your Admin CP.
